Description:

Gunter Klauss, the Red Dwarf, Forsworn exile of a dwarven kingdom is a stout, surly smith who up until recently was living on the very fringes of society.

The Klauss is especially gruff when the subject of his exile comes up in conversation; his pride still stings from the rebukes of the Metallican Guild, and his refusal to use only the prescribed methods of dwarven craftmanship led to his bankruptcy and ruin within the dwarven stronghold at the hands of traditionalist enemies. His strange need to improvise and improve upon designs and methods are something he cannot explain as anything other than that the forge is his temple, and his work is a celebration of creation.

The irony of his creations, high quality weapons, are used for violence is not lost on him.

Under the auspices of Autarch Astoroth Adramelech’s desire for an inclusive nation, after a few increasingly less subtle hints, Klauss took it upon himself to help recruit apprentices with which he could build up a manufactorium. The only dwarves willing to even hear him out were other malcontents and exiles, from which he recruited those he felt had the most potential talent.

Klauss decided on Blackrock as his clan name after the Autarch renamed the ancient dwarven citadel found in the depths of the Narlmarch forest from the Stone Tooth to Blackrock Spire. He and his acolytes eagerly await the day when it is part of the kingdom, mostly because the supply of beer has been erratic.

In addition to educating them in his unconventional forging methods, Klauss has set aside time for training, his hatred for Hill Giants resulting in a regimen of giant-slaying methods and techniques.

Craftsman: Dwarves are known for their superior craftsmanship when it comes to metallurgy and stonework. Dwarves with this racial trait receive a +2 racial bonus on all Craft or Profession checks related to metal or stone. This racial trait replaces greed.
Giant Hunter: Dwarves with this racial trait gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoids with the giant subtype. Furthermore, they gain a +2 bonus on Survival checks to find and follow tracks made by humanoids with the giant subtype. This racial trait replaces the hatred racial trait.
Hardy: Dwarves gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Stability: Dwarves gain a +4 racial bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense when resisting a bull rush or trip attempt while standing on the ground.
Stonecunning: Dwarves gain a +2 bonus on Perception checks to notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. They receive a check to notice such features whenever they pass within 10 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.
Weapon Familiarity: Dwarves are proficient with battleaxes, heavy picks, and warhammers, and treat any weapon with the word “dwarven” in its name as a martial weapon.

Runeforger (Su): A forgemaster may inscribe mystical runes upon a suit of armor, shield, or weapon as full-round action, using this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Intelligence modifier. These runes last 1 round per cleric level, but inscribing the same rune twice on an item increases this duration to 1 minute per level, three times to 10 minutes per level, and four times to 1 hour per level. Erase affects runes as magical writing.
Forgemaster’s Blessing: The inscribed nonmagical item functions as a masterwork item.
Spellglyph: The inscribed weapon gains the spell storing special ability. The forgemaster must be at least 4th level before learning this rune.

Master Smith (Ex): At 5th level, a forgemaster can craft mundane metal items quickly, using half their gp value to determine progress, and can craft magical metal items in half the normal amount of time.
Arcane Builder (Wizard): Constructs. You create items of this type 25% faster than normal, and gain a +4 bonus on Spellcraft checks (or other checks, as appropriate) to craft items of this type.
Classically Schooled: +1 Spellcraft. Exile: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Favored Class (Wizard): Select one item creation feat known by the wizard. Whenever he crafts an item using that feat, the amount of progress he makes in an 8-hour period increases by 200 gp (50 gp if crafting while adventuring). This does not reduce the cost of the item; it just increases the rate at which the item is crafted.
Construct Creation: 25% less time. .
